Decision time

OK so all I keep hearing about is the potentially very low turnout due to public apathy but no matter how low the turnout as of Thursday 22 November one candidate is going to be drawing down the £85k pa salary  so may as well have a say into who that is right!? RIGHT!

Now the difficult bit!!! Who do I vote for!?

Questions I would like to ask each candidate are:

If you are elected will this be your full time job (38 hours a week or more)?

If you are elected will you be holding public surgeries like an MP?

Is it true that in this election the Political Party the candidate belongs to / represents is less important than in other elections beacuse PCC are individually accountable?

    Hi,
    I would like to thank you for the above post and giving all the candidates a chance to respond to your questions, which will, in turn, give the public an either greater chance to understand the individuals spending.
    In responding, I am doing so on behalf of Piers Wauchope, the UKIP Candidate for the role of Kent Police and Crime Commissioner.
    Due to the nature of the job and the time it will take in order to deliver the role that the people of Kent not only expect but deserve, this will be my full time job.
    Throughout my time and Police and Crime Commissioner, if elected, I will be holding regular public surgeries, as well as travelling between Kents thirteen city, district and borough councils. This will be the only way to ensure that the public always have a fully accountable individual working for them with their police force.
    With this election, the qualities and experiences of those standing for PCC will be far more important than the party they stand for. Before taking office, you will have to take an oath which declares impartiality. You will also be directly accountable to the people, meaning the work you do will be seen on the street, rather than that of a political party. The political party which the candidate is being backed by (where not standing as an individual) may give you a indication as to the individuals views.
    I do hope this goes some way to explain what I will be doing to serve the people of Kent, and would like to once again thank you for the time you have taken to ask these questions.
